Can you pay rent by credit card in the UK?

Yes. There are two ways rent can be paid by card.

They accept cards directly

Some landlords or letting agents take card payments themselves. If your rent recipient already accepts card payments directly, you may also be able to pay them that way.

They expect bank transfer

If the person collecting your rent expects rent by bank transfer, PaymentFlux lets you pay the rent by credit card. PaymentFlux processes your payment and your rent recipient receives the rent by bank transfer.

    Create an account, add who you pay rent to, and pay the rent amount plus the PaymentFlux fee by card.

  • They receive a bank transfer

    Your rent recipient receives the rent as a bank transfer. Payments are usually processed to completion within 5 business days.

  • They do not need to take cards

    They do not need to accept card payments themselves. They still receive a bank transfer.

Who receives the rent?

Whether you rent privately, through an agent or from a housing provider, they receive the rent by bank transfer.

    The agent who collects rent for the landlord. They receive the rent by bank transfer.

  • Property manager

    The manager authorised to receive rent for the property. They receive the rent by bank transfer.

    A student accommodation provider that collects your rent. They receive the rent by bank transfer.

  • Council / local authority

    A local authority that collects your residential rent. They receive the rent by bank transfer.

  • Housing association

    A housing association that collects your residential rent. They receive the rent by bank transfer.

Once the payment is completed, PaymentFlux sends the rent as a bank transfer. A successful card step alone does not mean the rent payment is complete. Follow status in your account through to confirmation once the bank transfer has been executed. Payments are usually processed to completion within 5 business days.
